Support Worker – Full time/part time – Burton on Trent
£7.93 per hour

As a Support Worker you will need to develop warm and trusting relationships with people with learning disabilities to help them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. No two days are the same – you will be supporting two older gentleman in their own home in Stapenhill, Staffordshire to undertake household chores, including planning and preparing meals to supporting them in leisure, education and employment services inside and outside of the home. Both gentlemen require the use of wheelchairs to get around. It would be a help if you can drive.
You will need to have exceptional relationship building skills as you will be part of an experienced staff team working full time inside the homes.
Excellent listening and communication skills and a positive encouraging attitude is a must. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills as well as good basic IT skills. Most important is a genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.
You will be required to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and “sleep ins”.
