As a Team Leader your role will focus on leading and supervising a team of staff whilst supporting two gentleman in their own home in Werrington, Staffordshire. You will manage the staff Team to assist the gentlemen to undertake household chores, including planning and preparing meals to supporting them in leisure, education and employment services inside and outside of the home. One of the gentlemen is very active, loves walking, gardening, holidays and trips out. The other gentleman enjoys music and sensory lights and peace and quiet. However, both gentlemen like to eat out!
You will need to be an experienced Support Worker/Team Leader with a relevant background, who is used to setting standards and leading by example. You will ensure that the highest standard of support is maintained in accordance with Heritage Care’s policies and procedures.
You will need to have exceptional relationship building skills as you will be leading an experienced staff team working full time inside the home. Excellent listening and communication skills and a positive encouraging attitude is a must.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills as well as good basic IT skills. Most important is a genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.
You will be required to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and “sleep ins”.
