As a Quality Manager you will implement, support, maintain and develop the Port’s management systems through collaboration to deliver operational excellence and improved service quality at the Port of Milford Haven.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTIES

·         Develop and implement a phased strategy to deliver operational excellence and improved service quality through management system development

o   with Operational team

o   with Marine team

o   with wider Port team

·         Develop existing Port Management systems to gain ISO certification in a phased approach

o   ISO 45001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management System

o   ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System

o   ISO 9001 – Quality Management System

o   Other

·         Lead cross functional teams to support Port areas with problem resolution as they transition through the ISO certification process

·         Through the develop of Management Systems ensure the Port has effective processes and controls in place and follows a path of continuous improvement through PLAN-DO-CHECK-ACT

·         Collaborate with Port areas deploying lean tools to bring about sustainable quality and process improvements

·         Develop members of the Port team to ensure appropriate level of skills and knowledge exists to support compliance with and continuous improvement in management systems

·         Maintain management system certification and continuously improve the Port’s Management Systems

·         Generate visual business metrics to enable reporting to the business to confirm

o   compliance with Management Systems

o   improvement of Management Systems

o   improvement in service quality our stakeholders receive

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

·         Ability to live and encourage Port values of Safety, Sustainability, Collaboration and Excellence

·         Proven experience of implementing and developing ISO certified management systems in an operational environment

·         Strong knowledge and practical experience of industry best practises

·         Auditing experience

·         Interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others towards achieving a common goal

·         Change management facilitation

·         Experience of risk management

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance

Desirable:

·         Experience in process improvement methodologies eg six sigma, lean, TQM

·         ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management Systems Auditor

·         ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Systems Auditor

·         ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems Auditor

·         PAS 99 Integrated Management Systems
