Medical Projects is an education company that provides award-wining online and residential courses for students. We believe students learn best when immersed in engaging and interactive learning environments, and these experiences in turn help them make informed decisions about their careers.

From this simple ethos, we create a variety of course options, from 1-day online courses to week-long residential courses that are highly interactive, educational, informative and inspiring whilst also creating opportunities for students to meet like-minded people.

The Role

Under the direction of our Operations Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and ensuring smooth delivery of our courses. Your time will be spent primarily at our Gateshead Head Office, preparing and organising our online and residential courses. You will also be required to coordinate our residential courses which are based in London, usually, you can expect to spend around 4-6 weeks per year on location at our London residential course.

Around half of your time will be spent preparing and organising the upcoming courses. This will include liaising with Doctors, Medical Students and other key members of staff to ensure they are ready to deliver an amazing course. You will also liaise with suppliers to ensure everything is ready for the course delivery. When it comes to the actual course delivery you will be behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

The other half of your time will be spent on the administration side of the course. For our online courses, you will be expected to manage the administration of student bookings, coordinate staff and preparation meetings. For our residential courses, you will take a leading role in coordinating the students’ placements. You will be hands-on in all aspects of our projects, from coordinating medical scenarios within a Simulation Suite on residential hospital days, to liaising with doctors, to accompanying students to a West End show!

Role Responsibilities and day to day duties: 

• Coordinating staff and students to create seamless online courses
• Developing and maintaining relationships with teaching staff, partners, suppliers and seasonal staff members.
• Managing administration of bookings using online systems
• Planning and organising the residential course. This includes sourcing and booking; transport, venues, and accommodation, whilst ensuring that these are delivered within budget.
• Creating a welcoming environment on our residential courses and ensuring students feel comfortable and safe
• Managing customer enquiries via telephone and email
• Accompanying and ensuring student safety on our residential courses
• Delivering student induction sessions and ensuring students are aware of course policies and health & safety regulations.
• Providing pastoral care to students at the accommodation
• General administrative duties; answering calls, printing and updating course documentation, office and course equipment monitoring and ordering.

• Desirable – A working knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety policies
• Desirable – A working knowledge of either event planning, course delivery or lesson planning
• Desirable – Experience of delivering courses or event planning
