Centric HR is recruiting for a Governance/Compliance Officer on behalf of a social housing provider based in the West Midlands.
An exciting new role has arisen for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual, in an organisation that has significantly grown over the past year.
As a Governance/Compliance Officer, you will ensure that the Company implements and adheres to robust compliance controls to ensure day to day operational policies and processes comply with regulatory and ethical standards. You will be required to work closely with the Board, Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to oversee and support stakeholders to ensure the organisation meets the stringent responsibilities of a charity under the Regulator for Social Housing.
This role will be pivotal in advising the Board and senior managers on governance and compliance to meet these standards. The successful candidate will have the confidence and integrity to bring forward matters for attention and have the knowledge to be able to back up your recommendations with appropriate solutions.
Who are we looking for?
The post holder will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a governance or compliance role in a small to medium sized business, where you were accountable to the business to ensure the regulatory standards were met.
You will be able to work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business to build collaborative relationships. You must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and have prepared Board papers in a previous role.
Unpicking problems will be part of your skills and working either independently or as part of a team to find solutions. You will be a confident individual and able to challenge the business to ensure high standards are met and maintained.
With strong attention to detail, you will be experienced in identifying, advising on and managing business risk. You will need skills and experience in implementing and embedding governance and compliance systems or processes to create efficiencies whilst not losing sight of the important aspects.
Finally, you must be flexible in your approach, be available to attend meetings outside of normal working hours as required and be a team player, as well as being able to work on your own and use your own initiative.
