The Caring Physio provides private physiotherapy services in people’s homes and care homes. Our company represents the values of caring for others and showing respect and dignity to the people we work for and with. We put patients at the heart of everything we do, which is reflected in the positive feedback we regularly receive. We only employ the highest calibre staff who are not only excellent clinically but also caring and friendly; show excellent communication and problem solving skills; who are willing to learn and teach others; can motivate others; work well with teams in challenging circumstances and have a positive impact. We are now looking for our next Community Physiotherapist superstar to join our expanding team!
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced community physiotherapist to visit people in their homes or care homes in Berkshire and Oxfordshire providing physiotherapy assessments, treatment plans, and treatment interventions. The job role is to provide individualised physiotherapy to the patient and to set up a management plan that may need to be explained to the relatives and/or carers involved. You would assess patients to check their mobility and provide exercises for them and suggestions for equipment that they may need to facilitate their recovery and independence. You would typically see patients suffering with strokes, dementia, Parkinsons’, arthritis, fractures and joint replacements, falls, and musculoskeletal pain. You may see people only once following surgery through to long-term patients living with complex and long-term conditions, including frail older people. We expect you to draw upon your clinical knowledge and experience, applying neurological, elderly care, respiratory and MSK and orthopaedic treatment techniques. As your caseload will be varied, experience in all core rotations with evidence of working with older people and a multidisciplinary team is essential. We expect you to work alongside other MDT members of the NHS, informing GPs and consultants, liaising with adult social care to ask for occupational therapy input if required, and giving feedback to carers and care managers.
Our physiotherapists should display a diverse set of skills to be able to listen and comfort patients, provide up to date treatment plans, communicate with family and carers to ensure care plans are followed, coach carers on therapeutic manual handling, and look to improve the patient’s independence and quality of life. You will be professionally responsible for all aspects of your own work including the therapeutic management of patients in your care and the management of your caseload as an autonomous practitioner, with support from the Clinical Director.
We only employ physios who fit in with the culture of our company embracing people that show empathy and are caring, friendly and approachable and always show enthusiasm to help others and learn new things. You will join our forward-thinking team to deliver high quality patient care, tailored to meet the patient’s needs in the home setting or in a care home. We encourage staff to be innovative and willing to contribute to service development. You will need to be flexible, able to work alone and as part of a team and will be required to travel across our key work areas. Community experience is desired but not essential. The time spent travelling to appointments is considered part of your paid hours and you will also be provided a mileage allowance to cover associated travel costs. Due to the sensitivity of working during the Covid crisis, we follow PPE protocol as determined by the Government and recommended by professional bodies.
KEY EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:
We are committed to creating an environment where our physios can thrive and make a real difference, so we’ll look after you well to make sure you love your job and enjoy being the best physio you can be.
